Music & Creative Arts Ministry
Statement of Purpose: The Music and Creative Arts Ministry of Mount Airy Baptist Church is a unified member of the Body of Christ recognizing one hope in our calling - to spread the Word of God through sacred song, music, dance, and theatrical performance. We endeavor to enhance outreach and uplift people in worship services through the songs of Zion, spirit-filled movement, spoken word and dramatic interpretation offered in the most excellent manner, fully relying on the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Mission Statement: The Music and Creative
Arts Ministry of Mount Airy Baptist Church is a unified member of the Body of
Christ—participating through partnership and serving with excellence. It is the
desire of the ministry to bring the unsaved to the knowledge and teaching of
Jesus Christ, and to foster spiritual growth and demonstrate love for God
through music, song, dance, mime, and dramatic performance. The ministry
endeavors to enhance outreach and uplift the people of God in worship services
through the songs of Zion , spirit-filled movement,
spoken word, and dramatic interpretation offered in the most excellent manner,
fully reliant on the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Musicians Ministry
Music is an integral part of worship, and Mount Airy believes that the type of music—both the melody and the lyrics—that a person uses has an impact on everyday life. As we build upon the firm foundation of Christ and a rich history of quality church music, we are blessed to have a diverse group of talented musicians who serve faithfully in the music.
Drama Ministry (Elhanan)
The Elhanan Drama Ministry uses the theatrical talents God has given them to encourage the faith of the body of Christ and to evangelize the unsaved. The Drama Ministry seeks to communicate the message of Jesus Christ and bring the scriptures to life through the means of the arts.
Male Chorus Ministry
Our Male Chorus is a group men (ages 18 & up) with the most melodious voices on earth. They not only uplift our spirits but our lives altogether. Besides singing every third Sunday of each month, they also sing at other churches for special programs or to accompany Pastor L. B. West when he is speaking elsewhere.
Sanctuary Choir Ministry
The Sanctuary Choir glorifies God to reach the unsaved souls through music and love. They are the senior choir of the church and we are well known for the rendering of hymns, which are songs of praise and thanksgiving.
Unity Contemporary Choir Ministry
The Mount Airy Unity Contemporary Choir is known for its spirit filled delivery of inspirational and contemporary gospel music. Their excitement and enthusiasm is displayed in their energetic performances. Their sound is unique as they lift their voices to sing praises to the Lord.
Voices of Mount Airy Choir Ministry
The Voices of Mount Airy consists of the melodious voices of members from various Mount Airy adult choirs all organized for one purpose "To Praise The Lord Through song!". They sing traditional gospel, in addition to some contemporary music.
Youth Choir Ministry
The Mount Airy Youth Choir provides the youth with the highest quality choral music education and performance experience, fostering an awareness of cultural diversity and inspiring a lifelong love of music. We believe singing builds community and should be a life-long activity that builds self-esteem.
