Meet Our Ministerial Staff

New Member Orientation

Along with the Biblical requirements of a profession of saving faith in Christ alone and believer’s baptism by immersion after salvation, Mount Airy requires all prospective members over the age of 18 to go through our seven-week membership class taught by various instructors. The class requirements include listening to all seven sessions, reading our purpose and beliefs, signing a membership card, and completing a ministry profile form. Upon completion of the class, the New Members ministry leader will schedule a time to unite with our local fellowship.

Every third Sunday in room 2, the New Members Ministry takes pictures of any recent new members for posting on our new members bulletin board. This posting will enable the congregation to become more familiar with all new members.

New Members Orientation

resource type: info

Orientation (Adults)

The purpose of the New Member's orientation course is threefold.  Click here for New Members Orientaiton for Children.
  1. It gives the new member a clear understanding of the significance of the new life in christ.
  2. It explains the responsibilities inherited because of the Christian experience.
  3. It defines what it means to become a member of God's Church. By using God's Word as the final authority, New Member's orientation also seeks to emphasize the distribution between a true conversion and church membership.
The topics discussed in the course are designed to motivate the new member to become an avid student of the bible and an umcompromising doer of God's Word.

Orientation (Children)

Orientation for children focus on three topics; Salvation, Baptism and Communion.  We explore and discuss our belief of salvation, faith traditions and the place of the Bible in the life of a Christian.  There is further discussion on why we worship as we do.
